It was nothing much about Friday 13th. Just that it marked the last day of the audit period and finally I could relax a little after working late till after 10pm for the past three days. Joyce and I went to the IT Fair at Suntec Convention Centre.
It was very crowded at the IT Fair. It didn't seem like there is any economy recession going on. We could see people buying many things. My main purpose of going there was to see the Burberry sale.
It was not as what I had expected. It looked more like a garage sale. We did not try any apparels. We should have taken a few pieces to try on, just to feel how it is like to be dressed in branded apparels. Hehehe...
However, we did try on the shoes. The pair I tried on cost S$1,000. It was quite comfortable inside the shoe, but I was not sure whether it was due to the soft carpet flooring that gave the feet a soft and comfortable feel. Anyway, S$1,000 is just too costly for me to spend on a pair of shoes, though it is branded. If the shoes were to be in the muddy water on a rainy day, there goes the S$1,000 shoes!
The one Joyce tried on cost S$800. All these prices were before discount. But it was not much cheaper even after the discount.
The range of bags were a disappointment to me. I did not see any bags to my liking. One cost S$3,380 before 70% discount. It still cost S$1,014 after discount! Hmmm...
Then we went to Tang Dian Wang at Suntec City. The service was horrible. The waitress threw the coaster for the soup on our table! I was so annoyed by her service. Then 3 different waitresses came to our table to move our bowls, plates and coaster. I wanted to ask them how many times did they want to arrange our bowls, plates and coaster? It was such an unpleasant dinner. We ordered two bowls of rice but had to remind them twice to get us the rice. I told Joyce if they still did not serve us the rice, I would tell them off. Otherwise, we can just complain to the Manager and get him to waive off the 10% service charge, which I think is much more worth it.
The dishes there were of small portion and the soup that we ordered was so-so standard only with very fishy taste. I don't think I will be back to patronize it anymore.
After dinner, we headed home. One of my shoes got stuck in the gap of a floor tile while on the way to City Hall MRT station. It took me some time to pull the heel out of the gap. While on the escalator, Joyce asked me if it was the pair that cost S$800. I knew what she was up to, and I replied her "No, it's the one that cost S$1,000." We both laughed. Heee... guess both of us were rather lame. :D
