I've fallen sick

I've been sick since last Tuesday. Had fever at 38.3 and sore throat. Doc gave me a day MC.

From then, cough and flu started to set in. My voice became husky. My colleague was hospitalised as her foetus seems to have caused her some contractions which she didn't feel it. She is now on hospitalisation leave until 23 Sep. I have to cover her duties as well as complete mine and a deadline to meet on Tuesday, 15th Sep.

The executives are new and probably not very familiar with the tasks, hence our progress was rather slow. I couldn't complete the work on time and updated my superior our progress. She's kind enough to extend one day for me to submit the rest of my reports. They understand the stress I'm going through now that my colleague is on hospitalisation leave and that I've to manage 3 assistants on my own. Life seems tough. Sigh...

Had fever on Monday night at 37.7. I worked until 9.30pm in order to complete my work, for fear that I may not be able to finish the rest of the reports on time. Then on Tuesday, I submitted what I had completed to my superior and she told me to go back early to rest. Fever came again at 38 degrees. I felt ok so I didn't take any panadols, just had Pipa Gao to soothe my cough before I went to bed.

This morning, when I woke up and went to clear my nose, there was some blood in my mucous. Yucks... I decided to go to the 24 Hrs Clinic at CCK interchange to consult the doctor. My family doctor seems lousy. I had fever last week and was made to wear a mask and quarantined in a corner of the clinic. When I went to the doctor's room and told him I had sore throat, he didn't even check my throat!! And I came out of the doctor's room in less than 5 min. -.-"

The doctor I went today gave me a thorough check up. She checked my breathing and feel my neck for any lumps. I gave her a description of my symptoms. She took my temperature. It went up to 38.5 already. She prescribed some medicine to me and told me to return for another session if fever doesn't subside by Friday. My case is now considered bacterial infection, which I've no idea what is that. Only heard of virus infection before. Bacterial infection??

Doctor said by right after taking the antibiotics from the previous doctor, I should recover. However, my phlegm turned greenish after the antibiotics from the previous doctor, which is quite abnormal.

I was given two days mc to rest at home.

I've never fallen sick like this before. I've taken the most number of mc days this year throughout my 9 years of working life. Hope my health would be better after this time. Friend said if it's H1N1 peak period now, I'd be given 1 week mc and get quarantined already.
